BDS Conference in Montreal

Description: Judy Da Silva Anishinabekwe from Grassy Narrows, northwestern Ontario, Judy is the mother of 5 children and dedicates her life to fighting to protect the way of life of the Anishnabe people. She is active in resisting the environmental devastation and destruction of land, animals and people by logging and mining companies and the provincial and federal governments. She is currently involved in an environmental contaminants study of three northwestern Ontario Indigenous communities.

Christian Martel is the National Director of the Québec region of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW). He has been with the union for more than 30 years. In May 2009, Christian traveled to Palestine with a Canadian and Québecois delegation and has worked on the issue of Palestine since then. Christian also participated in the Gaza Freedom March in December 2009 – January 2010 as a representative of CUPW. CUPW was the first national union in Canada to declare its support for the BDS campaign and encourages other unions to join this movement.

Mostafa Henaway is a member of the BDS Conference Organizing committee and Tadamon! Montreal.

Lorraine Guay is a member of the BDS Conference Organizing Committee and the Coalition for Justice and Peace in Palestine.
