Program Title: Winds of Change: Animal Rights, and Human Rights
Description: Marissa Herrera loves animals so much that she believes that their collective purpose here on earth is to teach and guide us humans. Originally from Central Mexico, Marissa has dreamed of returning, for over a decade, to establish an animal sanctuary where abandoned, displaced, or abused animals can be healed. She also wants to create a space where humans can reconnect with their animal cousins, and the earth. In the second half, Alison Acker shares some of the information she’s gathered while working with the Committee to End Homelessness. This isn’t a group that works on behalf of the poor, this is a grassroots group that includes the poor as a central and integral component to their organizing. Music from Jason Collett and the Dandy Warhols.
