Program Title: Interview with A.P.B.
Description: With the recent vinyl release of the “T.O. Hardcore ‘83” comp there has been a rediscovery of an important part of Toronto’s punk past. The first band found on this comp is a little known band from Scarborough called A.P.B. Andy Ford, Paul Newman and Buzz came in to CIUT and tell their stories. Some of these stories are as far out there as a chance meeting with the 80’s rock band Journey that got Andy kicked out of the band’s hotel room. They also shared stories of discrimination towards punks back in the 80’s in which the band gets guns pulled on them by Brinks drivers at the Morningside Mall. A.P.B. played with MDC in Buffalo at a Rock Against Reagan show. They played with the Exploited in 1983. They share all kinds of memories of the Toronto hardcore scene back at it’s inception. This archive is an exclusive interview and some unreleased recordings by the band.
