Nuclear accidents, thankfully, are quite rare. But occasionally, they do happen, and the events of Fukushima are a reminder of the risks. Today we’re interested in the human health risk, and we’re trying to get it into perspective. It’s not easy given the difficulty in measuring nuclear health impacts, which often take many years to materialise. Furthermore, the debate is obscured by colourful claims from both pro and anti nuclear advocates, claims which are hard to assess. Correspondents David Kaczan and Dana Harper try to get to the bottom of it all in this next feature report.
