Program Title: Latin Waves Interviews Filmmaker Damien Gillis
Description: We speak to Damien Gillis, a Vancouver-based documentary filmmaker with a focus on environmental and social justice issues - especially relating to water, energy, and saving Canada's wild salmon. Damien speaks about the Harper governments collision course with first nations groups and BC Civil society as the government is changing the rules rigging the process to deny British Columbians a voice on the Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline proposal.
We also hear from Eleven year-old Ta'Kaiya Blaney of the Sliammon First Nation sings her hit song "Shallow Waters" to some 2,000 people outside the Vancouver Art Gallery. She tells the audience one year ago on this day she was chased from Enbridge's Vancouver office when she tried to present her song to company officials.
We also re broadcast reports from the hearings in Bella Bella,
Host(s): Stuart and Sylvia Richardson
Featured Speakers/Guests: Damien Gillis and music by Ta'Kaiya Blaney Shallow Waters
