Program Title: Pick Your Side feature
Description: Pick Your Side are a new hardcore punk band from the Hamilton area. The band was started by Jeff Beckman who was the guitarist in the legendary straight edge band Chokehold. Jeff started another band called Haymaker a few years later and Pick Your Side was a project that started off in the wake of many failed attempts to re-unite Haymaker. Jeff worked with John Ibey from Fuck the Facts in the original rendition. They recruited Chris Ansley who was the guitarist in Haymaker. They have found a drummer from Buffalo named Jason Bauers and most recently convinced Andrew Nolan from the Endless Blockade to play bass. This fits the band's uniquely down tuned sounding breakdowns and their raw lo fi thrash sound. The band has just released their first full length titled "Let Me Show You How Democracy Works". The band is about to go to Europe and is about to release a single called "Snakes and Ladders" on RS Records. They agreed to record a live set on Tuesday September 11th, 2012. We mixed recorded material with the live session and an interview live on Equalizng-X-Distort on Sunday September 16th. This MP3 file is the broadcast pulled together live on the show. In addition there is a set of garage punk and a demo feature by a new band from Bourdeaux called Shock.
