Description: Deepa Mehta is a Canadian Filmmaker, best known for her elements trilogy. In 2006, her film Water, was the first non-french language Canadian film ever nominated for best foreign language film at the Academy Awards. Her latest movie is Midnight's Children, based on the novel by Salman Rushdie. It screened at both the Toronto and Vancouver International Film Festivals, and opens nationwide on Friday, November 2nd.
Andrew Weaver is a Climatologist from the University of Victoria. He breaks down hurricane Sandy and the recent earthquakes off BC's Coast and describes how impact climate change has had on recent weather patterns. In addition he is also a Guggenheim Fellow, a member of the Order of British Columbia and a Candidate for the Green Party of BC in the 2013 Provincial Elections.
Chilly Gonzales is an MC and pianist, producer and electro-artist now living in Cologne, Germany. His newest album is Solo Piano II. In addition to his solo career, he is also part of the Berlin-based Puppetmastaz. He co-wrote and co-starred in the European Indie film Ivory Tower in 2010.
