Program Title: WINGS #38-12 Let's Cut Our Carbon
Description: In this interview, Prof. Wood talks about the urgency of cutting climate emissions so that by mid-century, when today's children are in their 40s, earth will still be habitable. She proposes ways to change our politicians' minds, and our lives.

Host(s): Sue Supriano
Featured Speakers/Guests: Mary Wood is the Philip H. Knight Professor of Law at the University of Oregon, and Faculty Director, Environmental and Natural Resources Law. She is a co-author of a leading textbook on natural resources law (West, 2006) and has published extensively on climate crisis, natural resources, and native law issues. She is a frequent speaker on global warming issues and has received national and international attention for her sovereign trust approach to global climate policy. Professor Wood is currently working on a book titled, Nature's Trust: Environmental Law for a New Ecological Age.

Credits: Adapted from the radio program Steppin' Out of Babylon, produced by Sue Supriano. WINGS series producer, Frieda Werden.

Comments: This interview was first recorded in 2009. Unfortunately, the only thing that has changed is that carbon in the earth's atmosphere is now said to be at 392ppm, and more methane is leaking out of the defrosted Arctic region.
