Kim Nguyen is a Canadian filmmaker and director Rebelle (War Witch), nominated for best Foreign Language Film at the 85th Annual Academy Awards, airing February 24th. In addition, the film is also up for two awards at the 2013 Canadian Screen Awards. Shot in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and cast the illiterate Rachel Mwanza in the lead role. Quebec-born and raised, Nyugen is the son of a Vietnamese father and Quebecois mother.

Ariane Moffatt is a French-Canadian singer-songwriter, Her latest album, MA, marks the first time she has written songs in English. It was released late 2012.
