Description: Fawzia Koofi is an Afghani politician and the first woman ever to serve as speaker of the house in Parliament. She is also the first woman to run for president of Afghanistan. In her book, the Favoured Daughter, she details how she was cast aside by her parents because she was not a boy. She later reconciled with her mother. She is the mother of two teenage daughters, her husband, after being imprisoned, died of tuberculosis shortly after his release in 2003. Their marriage was arranged, but she did not disapprove. Numerous attempts have been made on her life.

Rick Roberts is a Canadian actor, who stars as Jack Layton in JACK, the upcoming TV Movie based on the late NDP Leader's life. Roberts has also appeared as Jim Jones in Jonestown: Paradise Lost, co-starred with Robin Williams in Man of The Year, and in the upcoming movie Still Mine with James Cromwell and directed by Michael McGowan. JACK airs March 11th on CBC and co-stars Sook-Yin Lee as Layton's wife Olivia Chow.

Martha Wainwright is a Canadian singer-songwriter. Coming from a legendary musical family - her father is Loudon Wainwright III, her late mother Kate McGarrigle, brother Rufus, half sister Lucy, and aunts Sloan Wainwright and Anna McGarrigle. Her latest album is Come Home to Mama, released late last year. Also, she is the featured artist for season of Trauma, a radio-Canada medical drama; the soundtrack is available in digital and hard copy on February 26th.
