Program Title: Women on Air: May 29, 2013
Description: Deb Alcadinho & Clare Yazganoglu come to CFUV's studio. They are from the local organization Women in Need (WIN) that provides a range of supports to women who are leaving abusive relationships and rebuilding their lives. We discuss WIN's 100 Women Campaign, that aims to raise 100,000 by December 2013 to offer services to 100 more women.
Theresa Gerritsen from Haven Society is interviewed about their new program, 'Men Choose Respect.' Haven Society has traditionally served the needs of women and children who are the victims of violence in the mid-Vancouver Island area. Recently, Haven expanded in a new direction by providing services for men who want to stop their use of abuse in their personal relationships, through a program called 'Men Choose Respect.' I was able to speak with Theresa Gerritsen who designed this program for Haven.
