Program Title: Turkey Resistance Movement
Description: On July 4 CHRY dedicated an hour to speaking with activists about the Occupy Gesi movement that is taking over the streets and parks of Turkey. Starting as a resistance to urban renewal in Istanbul, the movement has spread to the rest of the country. In this one hour special we contextualize the current situation within the last 10 years of Turkish politics, urban renewal resistance, LGBT, feminist and Kurdish perspectives.
