Art special featuring White Poppy & Sisters of St Ann

Program Title: Women on Air: August 7, 2013
Description: For August 7, 2013, we created an Art Special on Women on Air. Featured is Vancouver-based musician and visual artist Crystal Dorval who talks about her electronic, experimental, dreamy and noisy musical project White Poppy.

Then, something many Victoria locals may not know is that nuns, specifically the Sisters of St Ann, were pioneers in Western art education in Victoria and BC. An exhibition at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, Nurturing the Creative Spirit: The Sisters of Saint Ann, tells the history of these Sisters art education and showcases many of the art works created by the sisters, teachers and students. Chief AGGV Curator Michelle Jacques and Sisters of St Ann archivist Carey Pallister took the time to tell me all about this exhibition at the AGGV.
