Description: Dale Smith is a fisherman and wild rice harvester. He lives off the land as best he can. His community of Pinehouse in Northern Saskatchewan is one of the sites targeted for collaboration on the dumping of nuclear fuel from reactors in Eastern Canada. Dale Smith addresses the power of the nuclear industry to distort local politics. HE exposes the agreement which mandated a gag order be placed on all town residents regarding opposition to the plan, and he speaks about the lawsuit he and 40 other people have launched against the two nuclear companies and the three levels of government permitting the plan to move forward.THis interview took place recently in Saskatoon on the occasion of his group, The Committee for Future Generations receiving an award from the Council of Canadians.
