Description: This installment features two bands which we recorded in the summer of 2013 at the Village Bakery's open air stage in Haines Junction, Yukon.

Steve Brockley Band - On a warm and sunny July evening the Steve Brockley Band from British Columbia entertained the crowd with mostly original tunes. This band takes folk music in a new direction without making the audience feel up-rooted. The band draws from a wide range of musical influences such as J.J. Cale, Hank Williams, John Prine, Bob Dylan and The Band.

Steve Brockley (guitar, vocals) is joint by Kevin Bertram (upright bass) and Leon Power (drums, mandolin).

Katie Tait - It was a rainy and windy evening in May 2013 when Katie Tait and friends cheered up the audience with an upbeat mix of well known cover tunes. This band from Whitehorse calls itself “Thirty Years Different” hinting at the age differences between the band members. The band got together for the first time in the winter of 2012 and quickly discovered their strong musical cohesion. The quartet started pleasing crowds at coffee houses and between jobs, outdoor adventures, world travel and root canals they are planning to perform many more times in the future. Katie (vocals) is joined by Alana Martensen on violin and vocal harmonies, Scott Wilson (bass) and Ray Tucker on guitar.
