Description: Whitehorse's singer song writer Kim Beggs teamed up Toronto musicians Oh Susanna and Justin Rutledge for the Dark Strangers Tour of the Yukon.
They came out to Haines Junction in April 2014 for an impromptu house concert.
Toronto based alternative country singer Justin Rutledge has toured Canada, the UK, the United States and Europe, and played shows with Kathleen Edwards, Jim Cuddy, Blue Rodeo, Hawksley Workman, Luke Doucet and Dolly Parton. In 2006, he was named Toronto singer-songwriter of the year by NOW magazine. His fifth album “Valley Heart” won him the 2014 Juno award “best roots/traditional solo album.”
Suzie Ungerleider, who writes and performs under the name Oh Susanna, is an American-Canadian alternative country singer-songwriter based in Toronto. She has released six albums and received Juno nominations in 2004 and 2008.
Whitehorse old-tyme country folk roots songwriter Kim Beggs has represented the nation at Canada Day celebrations in London’s Trafalgar Square and has had nominations for CBC Radio’s Songquest competition, plus for the Canadian Folk Music Award and Western Canadian Music Award. Kim has released four albums.
