Description: Anti-terrorism legislation is working its way through Parliament. Critics argue the legislation opens the door to creating a secret police and draconian powers for Canada's spy agency. Coincidentally, a lot of media messaging is hinting at the idea that Canada is under siege from the Islamic Terrorist menace.
For example, on the day before there was a vote in the Canadian House of Commons, there was a terror alert in which an anonymous member of the group Al Shabaab encouraged attacks on Canadian targets including the West Edmonton Mall.
