Tantoo Cardinal is an aboriginal actress and activist who, in February, received the Award of Excellence from ACTRA, Canada's acting union. She has appeared in such films as "Dances With Wolves" and "Legends of the Fall", as well as Carl Bessai's "Fathers & Sons" and "Mothers & Daughters". Her television credits are vast; some of her recurring roles include "North of 60", and "Blackstone" and she has guested on "The Killing", "Arctic Air", "Strange Empire", "Mohawk Girls" and she was a series regular on "Moccasin Flats". A member of the Order of Canada, her new film "Down Here" had its local premiere last week
