Content Warning

The word 'nigger' is used twice in the first interview. She is xiting something allegedly said by a judicial figure with the intention of demonstrating his inappropriate appointment to the suspect's trial. It is not used in a gratuitous way.

Program Title: Free Mumia: Stop the Slow Motion Assssination of a Modern Revolutionary
Description: This week’s Global Research News Hour pays specific attention to the case of Mumia Abu-Jamal, the award-winning broadcast journalist and supporter of MOVE who spent almost thirty years on death row for a crime he almost certainly did not commit.
This week’s show provides an extensive description of the circumstances surrounding his incarceration in 1982 for the first degree murder of a white police officer, and the irregularities and conflicting evidence exposing a mistrial.
We follow with an interview with long-time supporter Suzanne Ross , representative of International Concerned Family and Friends of Mumia Abu-Jamal in which she discusses the background of the case, his removal four years ago from death row and his current health affliction, which she believes has been exacerbated by a deliberate withholding of treatment from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.
In the final segment of the show, Glen Ford, editor of Black agenda report places the targeting of Mumia in the context of a broader counter-insurgency he argues has been waged against the African American population since the 1960s.
