Program Title: Bombing Black People: The Philadelphia Police's War on Move
Description: Philadelphia Police launched violent assaults against the revolutionary black Nationalist group MOVE back in 1978 and again in 1985. What were their true motives, and why have they not been held accountable for the associated human rights violations?

The Global Research News Hour attempts to answer these questions with the assistance of two guests both present at the scene of the 1985 bombing.

Linn Washington is Associate Professor of Journalism at Temple University and an award-winning journalist. He was reporting from the scene when the Philadelphia Police dropped military-grade explosives on the MOVE house in 1985. Professor Washington recounts his experience of the assault and why it happened, and outline the failures of the media in holding authorities to account.

Ramona Africa is a MOVE member and the sole adult survivor of the 1985 attack. In this interview, she details her understanding of the threat MOVE posed to authorities, the injustice of police actions toward her family, and the need for urgent action to free Move members still detained after having served more than thirty years in prison for a crime she says they did not commit.
