Program Title: WINGS #15-16 Colombia Peace Women
Description: Colombia's government and its major group of armed rebels are arriving at some conclusions after 65 years of war and two years of negotiations. Women have been working towards peace for decades, and have achieved a quota of 30% for public offices - elected and appointed. Women are sidelined in official peace negotiations, but they are negotiating separately and trying to influence the outcome. Any agreement arrived at will still be subject to a plebiscite.
Host(s): Frieda Werden
Featured Speakers/Guests: Angela Dolmetsch is a lawyer who directs the matriarchal eco-village Nashira in Colombia and organizes women for peace in the country and the home.
