Program Title: Occupy Hotel Vancouver
Description: In the 1940s, Vancouver had a problem: not enough housing for everyone who wanted to call it home. Construction halted during the war years and when servicemen came back from overseas, many were left homeless. Occupy Hotel Vancouver tells the story of one man who led ex-soldiers into the large, luxurious and vacant Hotel Vancouver and declared it their home until the government could guarantee another place to live; an occupation that lasted two years.
