Program Title: WINGS #52-16 Suppressed Histories
Description: Women are almost entirely missing from the study of history and history is almost entirely omitted from women's studies, says independent scholar Max Dashu. Collecting and organizing the missing data and images documenting women's roles - and their resistance to repression - in historic and pre-historic times became her life's work, and she is gradually making the entire trove available online in The Suppressed Histories Archive at http://www.suppressedhistories.net/
Host(s): Meghan Murphy
Featured Speakers/Guests: Max Dashu founded the Suppressed Histories Archives in 1970 to research women's history internationally and understand how systems of domination established and perpetuate themselves. She has built a collection of some 15,000 slides and 100 shows.
