Program Title: Fit to Eat: the NL Farm and Food Show, episode 52
Description: As the old song puts it, "How ya gonna keep 'em down on the farm, once they've seen Paree [Paris]?" Children who grow up on farms may sometimes try to avoid becoming farmers themselves - but that is often futile. Today we meet with Mark Wilson, vegetable and mushroom grower from Portugal Cove, who was lured back to the land (even though it was full of rocks). We talk about organic practices, markets, useful government interventions, food as medicine, how we seem to have moved from fish to weed (without stopping at food), why NL-grown food tastes so good... and bicycle-powered salad spinners. Join us.
