Description: This week on "Routes & Branches & Beyond" we have another Time at the old peat fire, listening to some Irish music, and keeping our social distance as we celebrate at home. I have tunes about bonnets, pullets, fiddle cushions, maids, pipes, petticoats, women in waiting and slight ripoffs of classical composers (which is fair, since they also "borrowed" liberally from trad music). And there are songs of jolly ploughmen with breath as sweet as a rose, of red-haired beauties (it IS an Irish show, after all), of wayfaring strangers, of bonnie belles, of bright fires, of the hope for peace throughout all of Ireland.
