Description: March 6, 2021 is the eighth anniversary of the death of the ultimate Canadian singer-songwriter... Stompin’ Tom Connors. He was best known for songs like Bud The Spud, Sudbury Saturday Night, and The Hockey Song. His strong connection to Newfoundland was evident in his songs like My Stomping Grounds which he co-wrote with Newfoundlander Roy Payne.

He sang songs written by Newfoundlanders, and Newfoundlanders sang his songs and even played in his band. In 2013, New Found Records celebrated The Stomper’s 77th birthday. Just one month later he died. Today, on the anniversary of his passing, we celebrate his legacy and his ties to Newfoundland by rebroadcasting that program in its entirety.
