Description: For many, the bell is tolling the death of democratic values in Hong Kong. Forty seven legislators have been charged with subversion under the Chinese government's national security law. And just last week, Beijing made changes to Hong Kong's election laws which would essentially only allow people loyal to Beijing to run for leadership.
Today, we bring you the stories of two members of the pro-democracy movement who have been watching these developments from Canada. Davin Wong, a student protest leader in Hong Kong, who's now studying law in Vancouver. And Philip, whose identity we are protecting, who sought asylum in Canada after being arrested on riot charges in Hong Kong in 2019.
