Program Title: Fit to Eat Season 2 Episode 12
Description: Certain borders are starting to open up, so this week we return to Iceland on "Fit to Eat." Well, on Zoom anyways. (The internet border didn't close, even though if is often unavailable.) I have often evangelized on the value of comparing approaches to agriculture and food in Iceland and in Newfoundland and Labrador. There is a lot that can be learned from each other. Today we chat with Karvel Karvelsson, the managing director of the Icelandic Agriculture Advisory service. We talk about Covid-19 (of course), local food, climate change, greenhouses, agritourism, sheep (naturally), food security, innovation, import challenges and the vibrant traditions of knitting. Slip into your Icelandic sweater and join us.
