Description: After a three month hiatus, we’re rejuvenated raring to go with new NFR programs.

Our Fall premiere looks back at two recipients of honorary awards that were announced this summer. We salute Buddy Wasisname & The Other Fellers for their Stompin’ Tom Award which was presented by The East Coast Music Association. And similarly, we applaud Jim Payne who received a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Arts Council.

We also spin a couple of tracks by Dick Nolan and The Sanderlings in keeping with the International Day of Non-violence as declared by The United Nations. Also, first spins for some “new” oldies that we’ve recently added to the NFR vinyl & tape libraries including one by acclaimed wrestler, (yes wrestler!), Sweet Daddy Siki.

On a sad note, we reflect on the career of former Newfoundland Showband drummer Bill Whalen Sr. Bill passed away a short time ago
