The fancy radio stations use the term "encore" for "rerun." This week on the show, we focus on "Bonfires and Beyond," in recognition that this is the time of year in northern hemispheres where such things become great comfort. As for the music, I play big folk band mayhem, sprightly clarinettish tunes from Cornwall, modern Irish protest anthems, soothing campfire tunes for the shores of a brooding lake, delightful skipping songs from 1950s Scottish streets, UK bluegrass, shanties with double meanings, bands named after creepy mythical creatures, pop classics made into an Indian devotional raga, and folk-rockin' the old turf fire. Just what you've come to expect from "Routes & Branches & Beyond."
