If a little older, it may have been a cassette tape, or perhaps an 8-track cartridge. If you’re thinning hair is gray or even white, your first purchase was probably vinyl... a long playing album, or maybe a 45 rpm single.

Now if you’re a super senior citizen like me, your first record may have pre-dated all of those formats. My first was on SHELLAC! It was a 78 rpm single by American pop star Buddy Knox - “That’s Why I Cry”. And I still have it.

Today on New Found Records, we dig deep into our precious shellac archives. We’ve spun those breakable nuggets clean and stacked them on the gramophone!
