Description: On March 24, 2006, Patrick Elie, a Haiti-based political rights activist and former Minister of the first government of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide (1991-96, came to Edmonton as a part of his Canada speaking tour. In his 1-hour speech, he eloquently traced the history of Haiti in its struggle against imperialism, the present political and social situation in Haiti, and the future that lays ahead for the Haitians.
