Program Title: CKUT Radio: Montreal Protest of Canada's Defense Minister
Description: Canada's Minister of National Defense, Gordon O'Connor spoke on Tuesday, April 3rd in downtown Montreal, at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, at an event sponsored by Montreal's Council on Foreign Relations along with several major companies of Canada's arms manufacturing industry.
Upwards of 100 demonstrators gathered outside of the Queen Elizabeth hotel to protest O'Connor's speech and Canada's mission in Afghanistan. Local anti-war organizations Block the Empire and Échec à la guerre organized the rally to protest O'Connor's speech which they charge is part of an ongoing Conservative public relations campaign to sell the Afghan mission to the Canadian public.
