Program Title: Ramona Africa and the MOVE 9
Description: Ramona Africa is a member of the Philadelphia-based MOVE organization, which is "a family of strong, serious, deeply committed revolutionaries." In a deeply racist city, they endured intense repression, culminating in the military-style shooting up and bombing of their home on two separate occassions. Their story is shocking, sad, and very revealing of what those in power prove themselves willing to do to shut down a group of committed revolutionaries.

Wrongfully convicted of murdering a police officer, their mandatory minimum of 30 years is finished in 2008, which means they are eligible for parole.

Ramona is an excellent speaker, and she talks about not only the story of the MOVE 9's unjust imprisonment, but about MOVE's stance on self-determination, self-defence, and freedom.
