Program Title: Women in Radio in Canada - 7 of 7 speakers
Description: Seven women share stories and thoughts on women in radio broadcasting in Canada, from the perspectives of researchers and historians, and as workers in the private, public or campus/community sector.

These speakers were featured at an afternoon conference called Women in Radio in Canada which was held May 5, 2008 and hosted by the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada and Media at McGill. The conference was organized by PhD candidate Geneviève A. Bonin.

There are six seperate audio files in this series, which vary in length from 9m48s to 23m28s.

Most of the presentations are in English. Annie Lessard and Lise Millette presented primarily in French.

Annie Lessard - Host, Annie le soir, RockDétente, 107.3 FM - Lessard discusses her experiences as a popular radio host in the "big, ugly, private" radio [Primarily French]. Lise Millette - Reporter, Directrice, 103.3 FM - Millette speaks of her experiences and challenges working in radio, as a news reporter, show producer, and a mother-of-three [Primarily French]. Patti Schmidt - Host, Canada Live and Inside The Music, CBC Radio 2, 93.5 FM - Schmidt talks about her early expereinces with radio, the creativity and autonomy she enjoyed as producer and host of CBC's Brave New Waves, and changes in the broadcasting sector that are changing the way she approaches work.
