Description: For black history month 2009, Canada Post honoured Jamaica-born Rosemary Brown, the first black woman elected to a Canadian legislature. After 14 years in the BC Assembly and contending for NDP leadership, Brown went on to head an NGO, be a columnist, and teach women's studies. In this 1991 speech, Brown exhorted the women of the Canadian Journalists Assn. to have more analysis and to stay the course of feminism against all backlash.
