Description: Marilyn James, appointed spokesperson for Sinixt Nation in Canada, lives in the shadow of extinction in the Columbia Basin of Interior B.C. Her people, the Sinixt, were declared extinct by the Federal Government in 1956, although they are still recognized as a tribal group.
