Program Title: Mountain Top Removal Activists Shut Down Coal Mine for Nine Days
Description: In the Appalachian Mountains a battle is raging. Mining companies are blasting away mountain tops to reach underlying coal seams, locals are worried about their health, and environmentalists have had enough. This past week saw a tree sit that shut down one of Massey Energy's mines for nine days. We speak with Climate Ground Zero, the group responsible, to find out why they're willing to go to such lengths. We also have an interview with Elizabeth May, leader of the Green Party of Canada. She tells us about what went right in Copenhagen and shares her thoughts on the future of the party.
Host(s): Marcus Peterson
Featured Speakers/Guests: Mathew Louis-Rosenberg, spokesperson for Climate Ground Zero;
Elizabeth May, leader of the Green Party of Canada
