Description: Maria Suarez Toro, co-founder of the Feminist International Radio Endeavour (FIRE) speaks to Sophie Toupin, from AMARC Women’s International Network, about the International Feminist Solidarity Camp Myriam Merlet, Anne Marie Coriolan & Magali Marcelin. The Solidarity Camp aims at mobilizing and transferring resources, and opening channels of communications directly for and with Haitian women that have been affected by the January 12th earthquake. The Camp is named after three outstanding female leaders who perished in the earthquake and who as outspoken activists, worked with courage and conviction for the advancement of Haitian women’s rights and equality, against gender based violence and helped draw international attention to the use of rape as a political weapon.
