In Vancouver, the 2010 Poverty Olympics featured mascots like Creepy the Cockroach and sporting events like the Welfare Hurdles, along with a parade through the city and a torch relay dedicated to the elimination of poverty. In a week where Canadians questioned the fiscal and social costs of the Olympic Games, the protest celebrated our social Justice champions. Community Radio Report:

Community radio stations across Canada will turn to the streets on February 23rd, with the Eighth Annual Homelessness Marathon. This 14-hour consciousness-raising event will feature voices of poor and homeless people from across the country, as they struggle to make ends meet.
