Program Title: On May Day, We March for Justice
Description: Thousands of people marked May Day in Toronto on Saturday May 2nd, 2009 with a rally and a march to demand status for all. The streets of the downtown core were filled with a sea of people representing a diverse array of communities and groups. Together they raised their voices to demand the end of criminalization, exclusion and oppression of people without status, refugees, migrant workers, poor people, people of colour, and immigrants living and working in this city and country. This May Day of Action was co-organized by: No One Is Illegal-Toronto, Mujeres al Frente, SAWRO, Migrante Ontario, Canadian HART, Casa Salvador Allende, Basics Newsletter, OCAP, Jane and Finch Action Against Poverty, Sikh Activist Network, Toronto New Socialists, Barrio Nuevo, the Stop Community Food Centre, BAYAN Toronto, PCLS, OPIRG Toronto, CAIA, and the GGAPSS.
