Description: The Quebec Student Roundtable (Table de concertation étudiants de Québec, or TaCEQ), the province-wide student lobbying association that represents SSMU, McGill University's student society, held their Annual General Meeting last weekend.

The Annual General Meeting took place in the wake of the Quebec government’s announcement in their spring budget that there would be an undetermined increase in Quebec's university tuition fees in 2012. Until then, tuition will continue to rise by $50 per semester. Moreover, the Ministry of Education has announced that it plans to hold a meeting in the fall to determine how tuition fees should be raised after 2012.

Besides SSMU, TaCEQ’s member associations currently include la Confédération des Associations d'étudiants et d'étudiantes de l'Université Laval (CADEUL), l’Association des Étudiantes et des Étudiants de Laval inscrits aux Études supérieures (AÉLIÉS) and la Regroupement des étudiants de maîtrise, diplôme et doctorat de l’Université Sherbrooke (REMDUS).
