Description: Since we are currently hovering somewhere around the long weekend in May (depending on when you read this), I'm devoting a show to Queen Victoria, whose birthday gave us this late spring holiday weekend. I guess that the "divine right" of monarchs to rule over us gave us one thing at least...! But the show is more democratic, given the republican tendencies of the age. I call this episode "To Honour Victoria, and All Queens Everywhere." Worldbeat polkas, thoughtful bluegrass, celtic-orchestral crossovers, old timey jams, South African power pop, celtic rock and an unabashed love song for our current Queen from Washboard Hank. All in 60 minutes.
