Description: A pillar of the Newfoundland music scene has passed.

JACK WINSOR was proprietor of Jack's Radio Shop/Echo Recording Studio in St. John's, Newfoundland. From the mid '70s to the mid ‘90s, Jack sold local musicians their instruments and gear. He also repaired it, and he made their demos and records. He manned the board for dozens of local artists including Peter Narvaez, Gordon Quinton, Roger Howse, Pat & Joe Byrne, Eddie Coffey, Don Paul, Iceberg Alley, and The Reaction... just to name a few.

The New Found Records Radio Hour will pay tribute to Jack Winsor on November 7 by re-broadcasting a special on the history of Echo Recording Studio. The show originally aired in 2012 and includes excerpts from an interview that Wayne Sturge and Greg Dodd did with Reg Howse. House worked with Jack in the shop and studio.
