Clode Sound and its label “Quay Records” can boast an impressive roster of Newfoundland And Labrador recordings including TNT, Simani’s classic, “Saltwater Cowboys”, the "first Wonderful Grand Band album, records by Harry Martin, Emile Benoit, Minnie White, Shirley Montague, Corey and Trina, A. Frank Willis and many more..

But on this episode of New Found Records, you’ll hear none of those “big” names. Instead, we drift from the mainstream and blow the dust off some 45 rpm singles by lesser known artists... artists whose music may have never made it to the public spotlight.

So tune in and hear great music by artists that you likely never heard of... artists like John Chipman, Jabal, Gordon & Martin, Wayne Nesbit and more. You’ll even hear a track by Glen Downey who passed away recently. Downey was perhaps best known for his long stint with Rising Tide Theatre. But in 1984 he and brother Ken released a sing on the Quay label. Glen entered one song from that record in a major national songwriting contest and guess what... He won!
