Description: This week on "Routes & Branches & Beyond" I take a ramble through the CD collection and come up with a show with a yaffle of artists who I haven't played on this show before. Humans have made so much music, and there is so little time on a weekly one-hour music show. I have fiddling stepdancers, retrofitted country wailing, jazzy trad harp, modern 60s folk from the Trans-Siberian Railway, irrepressible Northumbrian pipes, straight-edge Clare accordions, Scottish sock-hop teeny-bop classics (get out your old posters), anthems for Hawai'ian sovereignty, a New Orleans jazz parade version of a gospel classic, Russian songs about splitting headaches, and more.
