Description: The 2020 Honorary MusicNL Legacy Awards celebrated two Newfoundland music venues for their outstanding contribution to live music: The Strand Lounge in St. John’s and Wheeler’s Lounge in Noel’s Pond, Stephenville. For decades these two venues, strategically located on opposite sides of the Island, became the goto performance spaces for local and touring musical acts.

For this episode, New Found Records rolls back the clock to the heydays of these Lounges and spins recordings by some of the bands that entertained there. If you patronized either of those establishments in the 1970s and early ‘80s, this program is likely to bring back pleasant memories.
