Description: Thankfully, it's now the season to be in the garden without either a coat or bug repellant. Yippee. So this week on "Routes & Branches & Beyond" the show is called "In the Garden" - songs and tunes with garden somewhere in the title. In a show maggoty with NL accordion tunes, I also have old-timey songs briefly rescued from obscurity, Irish reels fit for a Caribbean cruise, cautionary tales about pretty fair maidens and the strangers who torment them, Lebanese garden songs of grapes and frankincense, klezmerified Kingston folk, Cape Breton esprit extraordinaire, Irish songs of unrecognizable former loves, dicey garden parties, genteel art-folk for the theatre and the tavern, Calgary celtic pop and new material from Danish fiddler Kristine Heebøll. We have bands like Dervish, Sultans of String, Night Sun, Daniel Payne, Ceol na dTonn, Dapper's Delight, the Navigators, the House Band, Scatter the Mud and Cassie & Maggie.
