Description: This week on Routes & Branches & Beyond, we acknowledge a wide variety of symbols and metaphors of the season - in hopes that at least one of them is authentic and potentially efficacious. And if not, no worries (as the young folks say), it was good to give them all a try. So, we have sugar plum fairies, wasaillers, christmas trees, Joseph & Mary, bells - both sweet and ding dongish, Jack Frost, the joys of family, Santa Claus, the comforts of community, Good King Wenceslas, and even more wasaillers. You can't have too much wasailling on a show like this. Music from groups like Finest Kind, the McDades, Triakel, Jethro Tull, Crash Test Dummies, Moody Blues, Rasa, Rob Crabtree, O'Hooley & Tidow, Joni Mitchell, Ingrid Lucia, Kate Rusby, JP Cormier, and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Cut off a slice of fruitcake and join us.
