Program Title: NewFound Records - Ep. 668 - Vinylthon
Description: Vinylthon is an annual event for radio stations throughout the world who want to celebrate the format of vinyl. To participate, a station simply plays at least one hour of vinyl-only music on April 23, and this year my mother station CHMR is a participant.

The New Found Records Radio Hour has been spinning Newfoundland & Labrador oldies on CHMR for almost 13 years now. Most of that music I source from vinyl with an occasional foray into cassette tape or shellac. To participate in Vinylthon, I chose to indulge and spin some of my personal all-time favourite NL vinyl. I’ve stacked the turntable with an eclectic mix of country, traditional, gospel, folk, and pop... music that I love. And along the way I take you behind the scenes for a sneak peek at how I go about procuring records, cleaning them, and treating them to reduce the annoying surface noise, clicks, and pops that often plague old vinyl.

So please join me and treat your ears to an obscure mix of NL vinyl that you won’t hear anyplace else.
